TRACE develops customized software to support engineering applications that lie outside the scope of conventional modeling tools. Our software is designed to be reusable, and they come in the form of standalone applications that can study physics of interest or as plug-ins that connect with commercial FEA to introduce new capabilities and couplings. This can take the form of custom finite/discrete element analysis tools, peridynamics (PD) applications, machine learning/AI surrogate models, rapid solvers for coupled partial differential equations, and more. Such tools enable accurate simulation and performance predictions for complex, challenging state-of-the-art applications, including the analysis of metamaterials or composites, coupled microscale/macroscale studies, novel computational fluid dynamics, and coupled biomechanical/biochemical interactions.
